The week before an inspection
Most of the work in that week is not improving practice — it is finding the evidence that practice was good: the logs, the incident forms, the training dates, the rota for a particular week. If the records were structured when they were written, that week is a filter and an export.
One source, several questions
A Regulation 45 review, a commissioner's monitoring request and an internal audit ask different questions of the same records. Reports run across homes and periods rather than being built per audience, so answering a new question is a different filter rather than a new process.
Nothing re-keyed
Every figure comes from a record a member of staff entered as part of their shift. That is the whole argument for recording digitally: not that the forms are prettier, but that the reporting is a by-product of the work rather than a second job at the end of the month.
